I make my own baby food. It’s not because I don’t think that the jarred baby food is not good for my babies, I do buy it in a jam. But, seriously, why pay $1 for two serving of babyfood when I can make 6-12 servings of food, freeze it and only pay $2-$3 dollars? Plus, I know it’s fresh!

Here are some of my favorite websites for babyfood ideas:
http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/
http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com/

You can also find great books from your local library to help you in your baby food experiment.

I find that it’s so much easier to cook extra veggies, meat, etc., puree it after supper and freeze it in ice cube trays. One cube is close to a tablespoon of food. The only thing that I have attepmted and not succeded in is cereal. I just make sure to buy organic baby cereal; oatmeal and brown rice. I buy My Organic Baby ( myorganicbaby.ca ) from the Superstore.

Good luck and experiment! It’s so fun and easy to make your own baby food!
